Two of the comments I’ll often see on my channel are
“show us you working with a dog in a built up area”
“show us a dog which hasn’t already been trained”
I take these comments for what they are. When we are working with a reactive dog, it shouldn’t look like we are. We shouldn’t see explosions of behaviour which we correct. It should look like we are taking our dog for a walk.
Although we are in a park here, there are other dogs approaching us on the footpath or we approached them. You’ll see the subtle stuff if you look for it and I’m pointing it out as we go.
When working in more urban areas, make use of available cover such as street furniture and parked cars to make up for lack of available distance. It can be done.
